Cross-Border Academic Synergy: Secondment at Okayama University

Dorina Rosca completed a secondment at Okayama University in July-August 2023. This visit marks an essential step in the WP3 GET INCITING work, which aims to bring the collective voice of science into higher education policy.

While at Okayama University, Dorina collaborated closely with an international team of scholars from the American University of Moldova, Universitatea de Studii Politice si Economice Europene “Constantin Stere” (Moldova), Sorbonne University (France), and Okayama University (Japan). Together, they developed and tested two comprehensive questionnaires – one for the academic staff and another for policy-makers -, which are set to be applied in the upcoming fieldwork phase of the WP3 GET INCITING group.

Dorina also engaged in several meetings with the academic and administrative staff of Okayama University, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices. One of the highlights of her visit was a meeting with a retired policymaker in higher education, which offered valuable perspectives on the next steps to be taken in WP3. The insights and experiences gained during the time spent in Japan are anticipated to bring a fresh perspective and enhance the methodologies employed in the WP3 GET INCITING work that IEED leads within the HESPRI project.
