IEED Hosts Insightful Talk on Digitalization in Moldovan Higher Education and Research

IEED hosted a comprehensive talk by Sanda Caracentev on December 1, 2023, as part of her 3-month secondment from the American University of Moldova (AUM) to IEED. The presentation centred on the advancements in digitalization within the Republic of Moldova’s higher education and research sectors.

The talk set the stage for a broader discussion on the country’s engagement in regional and trans-European collaboration initiatives, highlighting its active role in the international academic community. A critical part of the discussion examined the interplay between local and European research infrastructures. The talk also delved into various projects aimed at digital upskilling and enhancing higher education, particularly in IT and STEM. Sanda provided a comparative analysis of the past and present trajectories in Moldovan research and higher education. This retrospective view helped identify key growth areas and potential challenges HE faced over the years.
